This patch we have a number of smaller adjustments, several of which were focused on improving some aggressive cards in an attempt to encourage the presence of aggressive decks as a counterbalance to some of the greedier midrange & late game decks which have sprung up.
While there aren't any bug fixes or improvements to share this patch, we certainly have our eye on the prize. And by prize we mean Roadmap! That's right, we're close to releasing our vision for 2022 for all things Skyweaver—including some sneak peaks! So, like Canopy Archer here, be on the lookout for that!
Welcome to patch #91 everyone! We have a number of smaller adjustments in this patch, several of which were focused on improving some aggressive cards to try to encourage the presence of aggressive decks as a counterbalance to some of the greedier midrange & late game decks that have been popping up. We also focused on slowing down and reducing the effectiveness of some resource and health generation engines that have been slightly oppressive in the current meta. These changes shouldn’t serve to invalidate the top decks, but should help slow them down and reduce their health gain to more manageable levels. On the Discovery front, we have also significantly nerfed Agility and Strength’s card appearance rates, as they have been very strong lately, and buffed Heart’s card appearance rates back to a flat 100% across the board.

A seemingly small but important nerf, adjusting Vapors to heal only 1hp rather than two, which should significantly reduce the healing output of Vapors-centric decks, and also open up design opportunities to add more cards with Vapors in the future, as currently Vapors healing ability was making it tricky to include on many cards.

Chomp is getting a nerf, removing its ability to target your own units. Chomp is a powerful spell that serves as removal, direct damage and healing all in one. Before this patch you could target your own low health units to burn the enemy for a lot of damage, and while this was a fun option, it was a tad powerful and unintuitive, so we’ve reverted Chomp to once again only target enemy units.

A nerf by removing guard - Krystal is a particularly powerful 1c unit, between its decent stats and card drawing ability, especially when lined up against other units like Amalgam, which is a comparable strength card, but lacks Guard, when Strength is supposed to have more valuable units that other prisms (on average). So we’ve removed Guard from Krystal to allow its opponents to play around it if they wish, rather than being forced to destroy it.

Wash Ashore (20046)

Wash Ashore is getting nerfed by no longer attaching Dazed to the unit it returns to hand. Wash Ashore is a flexible removal tool, stalling opponents and removing earlygame units and buffs. Attaching Dazed to the returned unit was deemed too efficient, as both wiping attachments and effectively increasing the unit’s cost by forcing you to pay for Dazed or have it fall asleep. As Wash Ashore no longer places Dazed, it was also modified to only target enemies, to prevent Shoal Siren from returning itself, which would have enabled loops with Octavian.

A powerful addition from our second mini-set, Encantadora is getting a cost increase to 4 mana. It helped to fortify the dominant Sitti Water deck and some new Anima strategies. We found the overall package to be a little too strong for the cost, so we’ve moved it to 4c and given it +1power increase to compensate.

Prismata is one of the most powerful spells in Skyweaver, providing a huge amount of value and tempo, at the cost of a large up-front investment. However, in the current meta, it was proving a bit too easy to cast, and too low risk for its power level, so we’ve nerfed it to 8c. We’ve also added a self-dust clause to the spell, as looping it with Manage Memory was a bit too powerful, and we’d like powerful spells to generally be one use only.

A readjustment after the nerf last week, doomsday now only dusts your left and right most cards in hand, rather than your three leftmost, making it less likely to destroy your key cards when cast. This should help it find a middleground where it carries a heavy but not unreasonable risk to cast.

A simple nerf in the form of a 1 mana cost increase. Life Stream was too efficient at triggering enchantments while essentially costing 0, and being able to cycle itself with the Vapors it attaches. Life stream was also simplified to only target allies.
