This week we’re getting a score of new character updates! Tragic Poet, Amalgam, Snakeweaver, Old Fogey, Nakamoto, Mushka, Bane She, Eclipse, Bit, Getum Gang, Polar Bear, World Tree, Toh Tem, Tiamat, and Dracomantium are all joining the band with their new and improved looks! The music never stops 🎸

Improvements 🦾

  • Re-enabled green glow on buttons when highlighted
  • The profile activity feed will now show up to 5 reward cards
  • Different card grades will be visually distinct in the cart and deck builder
  • Improved card-row, and art-row components to be more performant
  • Added frame icons and a grade overlay to the card row artwork
  • New card row designs

Cards

Another tune-up patch as we settle into the launch set. Balance data is catching up after an outage last week. Replaced "low-cost" and "high-cost" vocabulary with "lowest cost" and "highest cost". Not all changes shown, such as template or name only.

Overload - Add Knives, Mana Potion, and Zap to your hand.

Waking Dream (633)

Waking Dream - Ready target sleeping ally unit and draw your lowest cost spell of its element onto it.

Only on Dream Dragon. Moving out of Agility to reduce the combo damage potential of the launch set, putting focus on Speed Boots for now. As the card pool grows we can look at adding this kind of power back.


Electron (627)

Electron - Inspire Metal: Gets Zap with wither.

Wither buff to reflect wither spell.


Sparky (944)

Sparky - Your spells have lifesteal.

Minor tweak for variety.


Seaweaver (396)

Seaweaver - Summon: Give water cards in your hand -1 cost.

    Text: Inspire Water: Get 1 mana. ➞ Summon: Give water cards in your hand -1 cost.

Reworked as a water discount. Old Inspire to Octavian, to move the potent effect up the curve.


Cloud Sloth (762)

Cloud Sloth - Sunrise: Give your hand -1 cost.

    Cost: 7 ➞ 6

    Power: 3 ➞ 2

    Health: 9 ➞ 8

Swapped slots on the curve with Guru. Cloud Sloth is in the cheaper slot, as the sunrise trigger is slower.


Bogi Bogi (615)

Bogi Bogi - Play: Move target 1 cost or less unit to your deck. Give it Hex.

Stealth buff with the Hex nerf. I like using attachments to debuff stolen cards, and it marks the unit so it's easier to see where it came from when drawn and played.


Undergrowth (765)

Undergrowth - Summon your bottom three dead 2 cost or less units. Give them Anima.

Another enchant used to nerf attachment recursion. The additional stats should be nice if you can manage the synergy.


Guru (1007)

Guru - When you draw a spell, give it -1 cost.

    Cost: 6 ➞ 7

    Power: 3 ➞ 6

Swapped slots on the curve with Cloud Sloth. Guru is in the more expensive slot, as it can begin compounding a discount immediately.


Mothermander (694)

Mothermander - Summon: Reveal fire cards in your hand and summon Firemander with stealth for each.

Reveal nerf, so you don't need to track fire cards as they're played when facing a Mothermander.


Coffin Moth (717)

Coffin Moth - Glory: Dust the enemy's top dead unit to summon Zomboid. Ready it.

    Spell: Barrier ➞ None

Nerf, the fast Zomboids seem to be doing work.


Cryogen (328)

Cryogen - Glory: Give enemies Frozen.

    Keywords: armor,stealth ➞ armor,wither

Swapped a keyword to match the spell.


Seek (623)

Seek - Draw your highest cost spell. Give your hero Mana Potion.

    Keywords: banner ➞ None

Nerf to a consistent tutor. And Polar Bear.


Homebrew (1176)

Homebrew - Summon & Death: Both players draw a 1 cost card.

    Spell: Lead ➞ None

Simplify. The effect is consistent enough, it doesn't need Lead protection.


Scooter (1046)

Scooter - Sunset: Spend two mana to draw.

    Keywords: stealth ➞ armor

    Power: 2 ➞ 1

    Spell: Barrier ➞ None

Stats reworked to match theme. Hopefully fills the same role, this has been one of my favorites ways to draw.


Puppet Strings (1124)

Puppet Strings - Draw a 1 cost enemy unit into play. Give it Chains.

Nerf to an efficient disruptor (and Puppet Master) using an attachment to debuff a stolen unit.

Bumped down the curve, with a nerfed Supercharge. This had some fun synergy last time it was 1c, and it looks more balanced this time around.

Ill Will (576)

Back in Wisdom, and back to Xc (Which Mootichi should appreciate) though substantially nerfed, in an effor to power down tutors (cards that find specific cards) for the launch set. While singleton creates space for consistency mechanics, I want to play it safe in a few cases.


Hannah (663)

Hannah - Glory: Add two Vile Vial to the enemy deck.

Simplified, to nerf early game Mana Potion harassment, and focus on Vile disruption.

Stats tweaked to reflect the -4/-4 of the buffed spell.


Fire Noble (1120)

Small buff to try a fire discount source.


Ebb & Flo (1183)

Ebb & Flo - Play: Summon a guard copy.

Big stat nerf, to put focus on synergy over raw power.


Octavian (487)

Octavian - Inspire Water: Get 1 mana.

Reworked to take Seaweaver's inspire, which should be more fair at a higher cost.


Maelstrom (1114)

Small nerf to AoE.


Deep Freeze (1019)
