This week brings a new matchmaking system, a change to the stealth mechanic, popups when you make invalid moves, and some nerfs to the newly added Intellect Prism! Also card frames have been tweaked to look even prettier! ✨

Enhancements

  • All new matchmaking system (battle against equally skilled opponents)
  • Units now have hand-picked backgrounds, instead of being randomized
  • The card frame model has been tweaked to look nicer ✨
  • Reactive action feedback messages now display.

Changes

  • Cards that read "or less" does not prioritize the higher value unless explicitly specified
  • Stealth is now broken by all damage to the hero, not just combat damage

Bugfixes

  • Mootichi now grabs a random unit of up to Xc (the cost of the spell). It no longer prioritizes the highest-cost one
  • Sapphire and Coal Dozer now trigger when an Xc spell is played if x = 1 for Coal Dozer and x = 6 for Sapphire
  • Brainbug, Taykus, and other cards that take cards from your opponent's hand or deck no longer crash the game client

"Intellect OP, nerfs incoming. These cost nerfs should slow Intellect down to a more fair speed. I'm very curious to see where the meta develops from here. This patch also features a rules change to Stealth, which is now broken by all damage to the hero, not just combat damage. This should be more intuitive to new players and make spells more interactive. I'm curious how the power of guard and stealth units shifts."

Tabby - Summon: Reveal the enemy's left and right card in hand.

Frost Claw - Give target unit Frozen. If you have no mana, give it {+3atk}.

Professor - When an ally with no attachment is summoned, draw a spell of its element onto it.

Chain Lasso - Give the front and back enemies Chains. Do 1 Damage to them.

Stargazer - When the enemy draws a card, reveal it.

Righteous - When a unit is killed, dust it instead to give your hero +1 Health.

Draco - Summon: This unit readies if the enemy has 30 Health or more.

Puppet Strings - Draw a 1c enemy unit into play.

Andromeda - Your spells do 1 Damage more.

Felt strong at 3c, trying a 4c version with Vapors upside.


Soul Forge (896)

Soul Forge - Summon a 2/2 armor copy of your left unit in hand.

Copy cost nerf.


Voodoo Doll (1071)

Voodoo Doll - Give target enemy unit Hex. Summon a copy as 1/1 with Fate.

Can only target an enemy. Heart has good ally recursion, it doesn't need to also copy allies.


Polar Bear (687)

Stat tweak to differentiate.


Dungeon Master (972)

Dungeon Master - Summon: Give target enemy Chains.

Old ability given to Chain Lasso.


Twisted Metal (626)

Twisted Metal - Give target enemy unit -3/-3 or target metal ally +3/+3.

    Text: Give target enemy unit -4/-4 or target metal ally +4/+4. Give target enemy unit -3/-3 or target metal ally +3/+3.

Has performed well, and Intellect has strong armored targets to buff.


Fish (954)

Fish - Draw your cheapest unit. Give it Vapors.

    Cost: 1 2

Probably too consistent at one mana, trying a 2c version with Vapors.


Mulch (845)

Mulch - Give target unit -1/-1. If lethal, summon Elderwood.

Tweaked to be another Elderwood tool, rather than an earth tool.


Meranda (857)

Tweaked with the new spell, and to nerf the Vapors potential.


Luna (1109)

Oceantium ➞ Floodwater (559)

Floodwater - Return your dead water cards to deck. Draw eight water cards. Dust this spell.

Frost Adept (1048)

Bumped down the curve, curious how annoying of a threat it can be at 5c.


Chrome Cast (497)

Chrome Cast - Pay all your mana. Draw your most expensive unit with that cost or less into play. Give it Lead.

Vial Vendor (1050)

Vial Vendor - Summon: Both players draw 1c spells onto their units.

    Power: 3 2

Small stat nerf, this card has high potential.


Alight (424)

Alight - Drawa light spell onto your hero. Reveal spells in the enemy hand.

    Prism: int hrt

Narrowed the reveal effect, should less overwhelming for both players and preserve some mystery. Similar to the Fish nerf, holding the spell in play should reduce the consistency of this 1c draw.


Supermind (1036)

Supermind - Inspire Mind: Give a random enemy Dazed.

    Health: 4 3

Health nerf, is pretty good at protecting itself anyway. May bump to 4c if this is still obnoxious.


Illusion (871)

Illusion - Summon a copy of target ally unit as 2/2 with Barrier.

    Cost: 3 4

Copy cost nerf.


Bit (938)

Bit - Sunrise: Swaps power and health.

    Power: 2 1

Big armored unit nerf, now it's pretty fragle to toppling itself over.


Coal Dozer (838)

Coal Dozer - Inspire 1 cost: Gets +1/+1.

    Power: 2 1

A strong card. Giving it some more time at 3c with slightly slower stats, and I'm hoping the counters in the format can keep up.


ZAPPR ➞ Electron (627)

Electron - Inspire Metal: Gets Zap.

    Health: 2 1

    Spell: None Shield

Nerfed overall stats on this strong armor unit. The Shield helps this survive while developing, but it's weaker when used immediately for Zap.


Zam (474)

Zam - Inspire Spell: Do 2 Damage to a random enemy.

    Keywords: lifesteal None

The damage potential in the copy prism is a strong enough role, Zam doesn't also need to heal.


Bloom Garden (1040)

Bloom Garden - Summon two Elderwood with Animosity.

    Cost: 2 3

Fun while it lasted, let's slow this beast down.


Defrost (1121)

Magnanimous (1062)

Doubler nerf. Only discounting spells should slow down the most eggregious uses of this card, especially since it's not ramping out other copies of itself.
