Endless Slumber - Patch #27

Team Horizon

Dec 04, 2019

New icons for Prisms & unit triggers, revamped downloader, and 67 total card changes. This week is sure to put you in an endless slumber after reading it all! 😄

Features

  • Heroes now display their respective Prism in-game
  • Units and Enchantments in play will now show their triggers with icons 😲

Improvements

We now update assets at the individual file level, instead of the whole asset library every time we release. This means files you already have cached on your device won't be re-downloaded unless we've changed them (which we seldom do).

A lot of redundant downloads should be prevented now, so users should see much faster loads on future matches, and much less data usage, even when we push asset updates! 💜

Cards

Push to 100 cards in each Prism, including Intellect on the bench, which absorbed a lot of cards this patch. Not all changes are included, such as Prism-only shifts.

Nibble - Do 1 Damage to target unit. If it lives, draw an earth unit.

Trapper Keeper - Death: Draw two spells.

Zed -

Honk -

Libra - Death: Give your hero lifesteal.

Shogun - Inspire Guard: Gets +3 Health.

Hail Hydra - Glory: Do 1 Damage to enemies.

Seargent Shred -

Leaf Ranger - Glory: Get 1 mana.

Hope - Summon: Give other ally units guard and Shroud.

Curious - Inspire Left: Draw.

Sensei - Your spells have banner.

Minstrel - When a unit enters your hand, give it +1/+1.

Dream Dragon - Gets +1/+1 when returned to deck from anywhere.

Long-awaited! We have the technology.

Mushka - Glory: Gets Ent Mask.

Cloud Kid - Summon: Give your left card and right card in hand -1c.

Barda - Summon: Gets +X Health. (Number of earth cards in your grave.)

Armored Cavalry - Summon: Draw an armor unit. Give it +1/+1.

Cygnus - Units have +1c.

Kill Shot - Do 3 Damage to a target. If lethal, give your hero +6 Health.

Flame Volley - Do 1 Damage to enemies. Give units in the enemy hand Flames.

Core Overload - Do 5 Damage to target unit. If lethal, do 1 Damage to enemies.

Aqua Blade - Give target unit +3/+1 and Big Mana Potion. If you have no mana, return this spell to hand.

Peace Sigil - Both heroes get +10 Health. All units become 1 Attack.

Rhumbo -

Fury - Your spells have wither.

Howl Geist - Death: Give enemy units Hex.

Wake the Kraken - Draw a water unit. Do 2 Damage and give Dazed to a random enemy, four times.

Brainbug - Draw five from beyond the enemy deck.

Geod (66)

Geod - Spells have +1c.

    Prism: str => hrt

    Spell: None => Lead

Another Lead threat.

Storm Rider (821)

Storm Rider -

    Cost: 3 => 2

    Attack: 3 => 2

    Health: 3 => 2

Shift down the curve. We're taking a closer look at cheap banner unit distribution.

Trinity Link (639)

Trinity Link - Set target unit to 3 Health.

    Cost: 1 => 2

Just a nerf to Avatar of Light.

Roothog (760)

Roothog - Summon: Give enemy units Roots.

    Prism: str => agy

    Attack: 7 => 6

    Health: 7 => 6

    Spell: None => Ent Mask

Some Ent Mask spice.

Temple Watch (783)

Temple Watch - Death: Return your bottom dead unit to hand.

    Cost: 4 => 3

    Text: Summon: Return your bottom dead unit to hand. => Death: Return your bottom dead unit to hand.

    Keywords: guard => lifesteal

    Health: 4 => 3

Remixed with new Death trigger. Curious how annoying it is returning itself.

Mikato => Birb (926)

Birb -

    Name: Mikato => Birb

    Text: Start Turn: Gets guard and banner. => None

    Keywords: None => banner

    Prism: str => hrt

    Attack: 2 => 1

    Health: 3 => 4

    Spell: One Punches => None

Art moved to other card, this canary is in progress.

Rocket => Flank Rider (983)

Flank Rider - Summon: Fights the left enemy.

    Name: Rocket => Flank Rider

    Cost: 7 => 5

    Keywords: guard => stealth

    Element: fire => earth

    Prism: str => agy

    Attack: 5 => 3

    Health: 7 => 6

Theme rework at a cheaper cost.

Insomnia (961)

Insomnia - Kill target awake unit. Get mana equal to its cost.

    Cost: 3 => 5

    Text: Kill target awake unit. => Kill target awake unit. Get mana equal to its cost.

Trying a bigger reward for (usually) having waited to kill a unit.

Ragnarok (530)

Ragnarok - Give target unit +3/+1 and lifesteal. Do 3 Damage to dark enemies.

    Text: Give target unit +3/+1. Do 3 Damage to dark enemies. => Give target unit +3/+1 and lifesteal. Do 3 Damage to dark enemies.

    Keywords: None => banner

    Prism: tok => wis

Buffed and added to the deckbuilding pool. Probably overcosted, though I like another Wall of Dead answer.

Windweaver => Spellweaver (1007)

Spellweaver - When you draw a spell, give it -1c.

    Name: Windweaver => Spellweaver

    Prism: hrt => wis

    Attack: 4 => 2

    Health: 4 => 6

Theme rework, better combo stats.

Yellowjack (526)

Yellowjack - Summon: Fights a random enemy.

    Prism: tok => agy

Back again.

Huntaro (533)

Huntaro - Play: Give target enemy Blind.

    Cost: 5 => 4

    Attack: 5 => 4

    Health: 2 => 3

    Spell: Swipe => Dive Bomb

Reworked to be more aggressive. Curious how good Blind can be.

Nessie (905)

Nessie - Play: Gets +X Attack. (Your mana.)

    Health: 8 => 9

Combo buff, this card seems slow.

Toil & Trouble (1003)

Toil & Trouble - Do 1 Damage to a target. Do 1 Damage to all units.

    Cost: 2 => 1

    Text: Do 1 Damage to a target. Do 1 Damage to enemies. => Do 1 Damage to a target. Do 1 Damage to all units.

    Prism: str => wis

Cheap AoE potion, following recent trend of more symmetric AoE.

Queen of Jacks (788)

Queen of Jacks - When the enemy plays a unit, summon Yellowjack.

    Keywords: stealth,wither => stealth

    Health: 6 => 7

    Spell: None => Two Bees

Now with even more bees.

Skewer (1024)

Skewer - Do 2 Damage to a target, or give it -6 Health if it has armor.

    Text: Do 3 Damage to a target, or 6 Damage if it has armor. => Do 2 Damage to a target, or give it -6 Health if it has armor.

Mostly a nerf to Strength burn, with upside that ignores the armor.

Deep Freeze (1019)

Deep Freeze - Give target unit Frozen. Do 1 Damage to enemies.

    Cost: 3 => 4

    Prism: hrt => str

Tuning removal, seemed good before, curious if there's room to buff at 4c.

Chain Golem (1028)

Chain Golem - Death: Give allies Chain Toss.

    Text: Death: Give enemies Chains. => Death: Give allies Chain Toss.

    Attack: 7 => 6

    Health: 3 => 4

Stat tweak, less vulnerable.

Cloud Sloth (762)

Cloud Sloth - End Turn: Give your hand -1c.

    Cost: 5 => 7

    Text: Start Turn: Give your hand -1c. => End Turn: Give your hand -1c.

    Keywords: None => stealth

    Health: 7 => 9

Buffed to at least get one trigger at End Turn, but at a higher price.

Brilliance => Metal Sigil (917)

Metal Sigil - Draw three metal cards. Give them -2c.

    Name: Brilliance => Metal Sigil

    Text: Give ally units +2 Health and Spell Shield. Give enemy units -2 Attack and Blind. => Draw three metal cards. Give them -2c.

Redesigned to new metal art.

Sworn Oni (994)

Sworn Oni - Glory triggers on allies trigger twice.

    Cost: 6 => 5

    Text: Glory triggers of allies trigger twice. => Glory triggers on allies trigger twice.

    Health: 3 => 2

Cheaper cost should be overall buff to the Glory strategy.

Light Shield => Forcefield (930)

Forcefield - Give allies Spell Shield and +1 Health.

    Name: Light Shield => Forcefield

    Text: Your hero conjures a light spell. Give units in your hand Spell Shield. => Give allies Spell Shield and +1 Health.

Simplified to a potent Spell Shield source.

Judge (1026)

Judge - Play: Give target unit Silence.

    Cost: 3 => 4

    Keywords: armor,guard => armor

    Attack: 1 => 4

    Health: 3 => 2

    Spell: Spell Shield => Smite

Buffed up the curve, with a spell to take advantage of the Silence.

Spite & Malice (442)

Spite & Malice - Play: Summon a stealth copy of this unit.

    Cost: 6 => 4

    Prism: wis => hrt

    Health: 3 => 2

Stats reverted to an old favorite, which should be potent with the spell.

Bird Mask (1006)

Bird Mask - Give target ally unit Shroud and banner.

    Text: Give ally units Shroud. => Give target ally unit Shroud and banner.

    Keywords: banner => None

    Prism: tok => agy

Reminds me of old Blessing, I'm curious how much play a banner buff without stats has.

Rodent Problem (804)

Rodent Problem - Summon a 1c unit, with +3/+3.

    Cost: 4 => 5

    Text: Summon a 1c unit, with +2/+3. => Summon a 1c unit, with +3/+3.

    Prism: str => int

I liked the flat buff of +3/+3. It seemed too good at 4c, curious if it's playable at 5c.

Glorious Mane (712)

Glorious Mane - Target unit becomes light. Give light allies +1/+1 and Spell Shield.

    Text: Target unit becomes light. Give it guard and +2/+2. => Target unit becomes light. Give light allies +1/+1 and Spell Shield.

More changes for this card, trying an incentive to play light units.

Mind Stone (1021)

Mind Stone - Exhaust your hero to draw two mind cards, with +1c.

    Text: Exhaust your hero to draw a mind card, with -2c. => Exhaust your hero to draw two mind cards, with +1c.

An old favorite design returns, should be a premier Mind draw.

Silence (989)

Silence - This character's triggers can't trigger.

    Cost: 8 => no

Buffed to be a more reliable answer to effects that can be difficult to answer.

Charkram (761)

Charkram - Do 2 Damage to a target. If lethal, give this spell to your hero with +1c.

    Cost: 1 => 2

    Text: Do 1 Damage to target unit and the enemy hero. Give this spell to your hero with +1c. => Do 2 Damage to a target. If lethal, give this spell to your hero with +1c.

A more substancial impact for the mana.

Priestess (964)

Priestess - In hand, gets -2c when an ally dies.

    Keywords: guard,wither => wither

    Attack: 1 => 3

    Health: 6 => 3

Stats reworked. Surprised I haven't seen more of this card.

Jakintsu (513)

Jakintsu - End Turn: Give your hero +1 Health for each card in your hand.

    Cost: 4 => 5

    Health: 4 => 5

Back to 5c.

Zoomie (830)

Zoomie - Summon: Readies.

    Cost: 5 => 6

    Text: Summon: Wakes up. => Summon: Readies.

    Attack: 5 => 6

Moved up the curve, still seems like a lot of ready damage.

Deathkin => Gravekin (1031)

Gravekin - Death triggers of allies trigger twice when they die.

    Name: Deathkin => Gravekin

    Cost: 5 => 6

    Attack: 3 => 4

    Health: 3 => 4

Buffed up.

See Shore (1015)

See Shore - Give ally units Mana Potion. If you have no mana, gain 1 max mana.

    Cost: 5 => 3

    Text: Your hero conjures a water spell. Give ally units Big Mana Potion. => Give ally units Mana Potion. If you have no mana, gain 1 max mana.

Reworked to be a cheaper source of attachment cleanse. Curious how another cheap ramp spell impacts the meta.

Wartlock (1042)

Wartlock - Summon: Summon a unit. Kill it.

    Cost: 5 => 4

    Attack: 3 => 2

    Spell: Tomb Stone => Soul Crush

Reworked to carry a removal spell, as Wartlock already has good spread stat potential. Tomb Stone moved to another unit.

Harpex (982)

Harpex - Gets +1 Attack when you draw a spell.

    Text: Gets +1 Attack when you draw a card. => Gets +1 Attack when you draw a spell.

    Keywords: stealth => None

    Attack: 4 => 1

Nerf to keyword, nerf to attack, and nerf to effect. Curious if the OTK is still within reach.

    Earth Golem (108)

    Mass Confuse (134)

    Glacia (429)

    Gus (489)

    Full Bloom (737)
